Google Interview Warmup is gone. What do you practise with now?
In April 2026 Google shut down Interview Warmup, the free Grow with Google tool where you answered interview questions and got notes on your answer. The old address now lands on Gemini. If you used it to rehearse in English before a real interview, this is about what to do instead.
What Interview Warmup did
You picked a field, got typical interview questions, answered by voice or by typing, and the tool highlighted the terms you used, the points you covered and the shape of your answer. Free, no account, in the browser.
What it never did
- Correct your English. “I have worked here since three years” went unremarked.
- Talk back. One question, one answer, one report — never the follow-up a real interviewer would ask.
- Know anything about technical interviews: system design, coding out loud, the CTO conversation, salary negotiation.
The alternative: DevRounds
DevRounds is a voice interview coach for developers who interview in a second language. Byte, a robot interviewer, asks, listens and answers back. After every answer you get two kinds of notes: what your English got wrong, and what your answer left out. Interview Warmup graded the answer. DevRounds corrects the English and the answer, and keeps the conversation going.
